AGRODEP Impact Evaluation and Management (AGRODEP-IEM)

This course aims to strenghten the skills of African professionals in assessing and managing the impact of agricultural development and food security projects in Africa.

The use of impact evaluation and management - as a methodology to promote both accountability and learning within development projects - has steadily increased across Africa over the past two decades. However, African professionals remain marginally involved in this line of work. Project funders and managers often fail to find suitable African professionals to carry out this work.  

The course will be offered as a new educational curriculum within the framework of the African Growth and Development Policy Modeling Consortium (AGRODEP), which is a 12 years old educational network led by AKADEMIYA2063. The latter is a new and Africa-based partner of KIT (MoU signed in October 2022). Thrugh AGRODEP, AKADEMIYA2063 pools international expertise and educational curricula from all over the world, to provide state of the art training to African professionals. AGRODEP offers a growing network of African professionals who have the potential to lead and teach impact evaluation and management work. The members of this network will receive training on data collection and analysis, impact evaluation and impact management approaches, based on a highly interactive and modular (i.e. customized) curriculum.
