Business Administration: Strategy track
Master

Business Administration: Strategy track targets students interested in the big picture. The field of strategy is concerned with the complex questions that present themselves at general management level.
Answering questions like: where should a firm compete, how should it compete, and how should a firm be organised to be successful, is never easy. Firms compete in dynamic environments, and this presents general managers with situations that are very complex in terms of the number of variables that have to be considered, and that involve a lot of uncertainty. This means that general managers are often faced with so-called 'unstructured problems', where it may not even be clear what the precise nature of the problem is. Dealing with such problems requires strong analytical skills.
The purpose of Business Administration: Strategy is to develop the knowledge and skills that you will need to deal with the fundamental, complex, and often unstructured problems that firms and their general managers face. This is done in two ways. First, we will study the theories of strategy that have been, and continue to be, developed in both the academic and the management literature. Second, you will learn to apply the theories to practical cases.
