The high quality demands placed on food products before they are ready for consumption creates the need for professionals who are experts in the development and production of foodstuffs. This Certificate programme covers various food technology fields and processes such as dairy and meat, fruit and vegetables, beverages, bakery products, and sweets. It is especially interesting for mid-career professionals who would like to specialise in dairy process technology.
The programme focuses on technological aspects of food development and production processes, food quality, health and safety, and logistics. Special attention is given to dairy process technology. One of unique feature of the Department of Food technology is the pilot plant in which students practice the different food technology processes used in Dutch food industry. At this plant, students and staff work on the development of new and the improvement of existing products for food industry together with other students, researchers, professors and specialists from food industry.

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a student-centred system based on the student workload required to achieve the objectives of a programme of study.
