Focus is on management of a poultry farm as an entrepreneur/advisor, tackle constraints and seize opportunities. Insight in factors effecting productivity and production. To monitor and communicate.
Focus of this programme is: advisor in poultry business, manager of a poultry farm or entrepreneur in poultry husbandry and hatchery.
The programme contains assignments on farm level, applied lectures and practical training, leading to applied farm analysis with translation to improved technical/economic results.
This requires insight in the management aspects within different poultry farms. This implies that one should be aware of applicable production standards and using them in an appropriate way.
Knowledge on poultry behaviour and the ability to monitor poultry is also necessary to draw conclusions concerning the performance of the farm and or the hatchery.
The focus also implies that one should be a discussion partner for stakeholders like managers, veterinarians, feed suppliers and consumers. Peppered with a lot of practical training (understand, advice and optimize in different professional situations).
