European Studies: International Relations focuses on the international dimensions of policy, governance and administration with a strong focus on EU external relations policies. The programme looks beyond the internal processes of European integration to examine how the EU has developed its foreign policy. The programme employs an interdisciplinary approach, combining political science, history, international relations and political economy. The focus is on the underlying issues of power and influence, governance and culture and how the EU tries to develop as an international actor.
