Course description

This course is a combination of online and face to face training on development and facilitation of interactive learning for lecturers and researchers in higher and vocational education. 
This course focusses on building the competencies required to design and deliver experiential interactive learning programmes involving students in action-research and outreach programmes with stakeholders in rural innovation. 

Learning strategy:  involvement of participants in hands-on application of integrated and interactive learning, and builds largely on the participants' own experiences. Participants bring to the course their own learning programs or approved plans for future learning events (case studies) that will be analysed, reflected upon, and improved.

Course content 

Module 1:  Design and delivery of sessions for building competences and perform professional tasks, including: Learning staircase;  Flipping the classroom;  Video making; Mentimeter; Dealing with large audiences

Module 2:  Practice-based and real-life learning for more employable graduates

Module 3.  Competence and professional tasks-based curriculum 

Target group: Lecturers and researchers working in higher agricultural and rural education organisations and who are involved in curricula development processes and educational changes to promote competencies in experiential and interactive learning.

Academic Bachelor or similar qualification 

  • Proficiency in English
  • Professionals who are ambitious and want to make a change
  • Professionals who are ready to invest 6-8 hours hours per week for the duration of the course
  • Have at least five years professional experience, preferably in tertiary agricultural education and training or a related field
