This course aims to enable participants to understand and analyse international health issues, conduct applied research, and develop adequate and appropriate responses in a global context.
The MIH is a modular programme for full-time or part-time study. It consists of a core course, advanced modules, and a research project submitted as a thesis. The MIH can be completed in one-year (full-time) or up to five years (part-time).
International Health is a discipline that systematically compares factors that affect the health of all human populations with a special focus on poverty-related health problems in low and middle-income countries. International Health includes the promotion of health, prevention and treatment of diseases and rehabilitation. Knowledge, skills and the ability to critically analyse and draw implications for practice related to the major endemic diseases, health systems research, health economics, health policy and management of health services are essential.

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a student-centred system based on the student workload required to achieve the objectives of a programme of study. Its aim is to facilitate the recognition of study periods undertaken by mobile students through the transfer of credits. The ECTS is based on the principle that 60 credits are equivalent to the workload of full-time student during one academic year.
