Online Course Behaviour Change and Advocacy
Short or summer course
This is an intensive 11-week online teaching course, with an average study load of 8 hours per week. The course is divided into 5 units. Each unit has an average duration between 1 to 4 weeks and it is assessed via different assignments usually delivered by the end of the unit. The 5 main units are:
1. Behaviour & advocacy definitions, concepts, and determinants
2. Transitions towards sustainable sanitation through behaviour change approaches
3. Sanitation behaviour & advocacy strategies
4. Behaviour change models
5. Sanitation behaviour change design workshops
This online course highlights the significance of behaviour change across the sanitation value chain. Participants are exposed to behaviour theories and advocacy methods from prominent sanitation professionals who have designed and implemented impactful interventions in Africa, Asia and Latin America. At the end of this course, participants will be able to understand the concepts of behavioural change, and demonstrate an awareness of approaches promoting change in a diverse range of populations and contexts.

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a student-centred system based on the student workload required to achieve the objectives of a programme of study. Its aim is to facilitate the recognition of study periods undertaken by mobile students through the transfer of credits.
