
Online course Constructed Wetlands for Wastewater Treatment
Short or summer course

Basic principles of treatment of wastewater in constructed wetlands, with different types of wastewater, design, modelling, operation and maintenance, economics and practical aspects.
The course is designed for professionals actively involved in wastewater treatment. They may be working in organizations responsible for waste water treatment. The target group is also those who have an interest in onsite wastewater treatment for small communities.

Design of constructed wetlands, with Technology Selection; Model framework ; Constructed wetland sizing; Practical design aspects
Operation and maintenance, with Starting up a constructed wetland; Operation and maintenance; Economics and reuse
Case studies, with Case study Texel, Constructed wetlands in Brazil; Constructed wetlands for treating paper mill wastewater; Constructed wetlands in arid climates
And finally an Assignment on a design of a specific wetland
