The specialisation Accounting and Control provides you with the knowledge, attitudes and skills to become a professional in the domains of auditing, accountancy, controlling and financial management.
The programme Accounting & Control addresses topics of practical relevance in contemporary organisations as these are embedded in the developments of scientific disciplines . The programme provides students with 'state of the art'- knowledge in the (sub)disciplines accounting information systems, management accounting and control, financial accounting and governance, auditing, organisational learning, strategy management and corporate finance. This specialisation offers students a variety of research methodologies and methods, ranging from rationalists to constructionists and interpretive methodologies and from quantitative to qualitative methods.
As a graduate in Accounting & Control you will be working as a professional for large and medium-sized companies, consultancy firms, government and other not-for-profit organizations in the area of financial and management accounting and control.
The Master's in Accounting & Control is a specialisation of the Master's programme in Economics.

Application requirements
A Dutch Bachelor's degree (or equivalent, from a research university) in Economics or a closely-related discipline, with a fair number of courses in Accounting and data-analysis courses.
Unless the requirements at (http://www.ru.nl/opleidingen/master/economics/admission/) are met, a language test is required: A TOEFL score of ≥90, with subscores not lower than 18 A IELTS score of ≥6.5, with subscores not lower than 6.0 Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) with a mark of C or higher
