The three-year English-taught Bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics (AM) will equip you to bring mathematical clarity to complex societal challenges, for example, in the environmental domain, in mobility, technology, banking, or healthcare. While covering all the theory and skills you would expect from a Bachelor’s in math – calculus, linear algebra, probability and much more – this top-rated programme also has a strong focus on practical application. You will become an expert in using tools like modelling to reduce complex, real-life issues to their mathematical essence and to identify the best solutions. With some 60 to 70 first-year students, this is a small-scale programme with little distance between staff and students and a lot of room for personal attention and initiative. Its interdisciplinary, international orientation will familiarise you with working in mixed teams. With a bachelor’s and a master’s degree, you will find many job opportunities, for example, as an R&D specialist with a tech firm, in logistics or process optimisation, as an adviser or policymaker with a (semi-)government organisation, in the academic world, or as a teacher or researcher in education.

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a student-centred system based on the student workload required to achieve the objectives of a programme of study. Its aim is to facilitate the recognition of study periods undertaken by mobile students through the transfer of credits. The ECTS is based on the principle that 60 credits are equivalent to the workload of full-time student during one academic year.
