Civil Engineering
Master
Want to engineer the cities, infrastructure and systems that shape a sustainable future?
Civil engineering shapes the world around you, from roads, bridges & transport systems, to waterways flood defenses & offshore structures. At TU Delft’s Civil Engineering master’s programme, you’ll learn to develop sustainable solutions to today’s biggest challenges, like climate change, sea-level rise, resource depletion, population growth & urbanisation, & ageing of infrastructure.
By specialising in geotechnical, structural, hydraulic, offshore, materials, or transport engineering, you’ll deepen your expertise and work alongside leading experts in the field. Along the way, you’ll gain the technical, analytical & professional skills needed to launch a career in a multidisciplinary & international environment.
This two-year master's programme starts with a shared curriculum, developing essential engineering skills in programming, data science, numerical and physics-based modelling, & systems design. You’ll then choose a specialisation track, allowing you to deepen your knowledge in your chosen field. In the second year, you broaden your learning experience in a multidisciplinary way. You can study abroad, complete an internship or a multi- disciplinary project, or take in-depth electives. These opportunities prepare you for your master’s thesis project in a topic that inspires you.

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a student-centred system based on the student workload required to achieve the objectives of a programme of study. Its aim is to facilitate the recognition of study periods undertaken by mobile students through the transfer of credits. The ECTS is based on the principle that 60 credits are equivalent to the workload of full-time student during one academic year.
