Focus on the relationships between different communities within an ecosystem. Find out how they respond to environmental stress and unravel ecosystem dynamics. Use these insights to contribute to nature conservation and restoration.

An ecosystem is a biological community consisting of numerous plants, animals and micro-organisms, influenced by soil and water characteristics, weather conditions and human intervention. In this Master’s specialisation, you will get insight in the relations between individuals, populations and communities with their environment. You will also learn how they react to environmental stress. This fundamental knowledge can be applied in nature protection and restoration or in nature-based industrial processes, for example water purification.
