Environmental Engineering
Master
Do you want to help solve some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges? How can we provide clean water, improve air quality, recover resources from waste, and design systems that help communities adapt to floods, droughts, and heatwaves? How do we balance urbanisation, climate resilience, and the protection of natural ecosystems?
The TU Delft MSc Environmental Engineering programme equips you with the knowledge and skills to address these critical questions through an interdisciplinary approach. You will develop engineering solutions for water management, air quality improvement, and sustainable infrastructure. You’ll also learn to innovate for a healthier, more sustainable future, shaping resilient cities and protecting the natural environment.
In this two year programme, you’ll build a strong foundation in environmental processes, modelling techniques, data analysis, and engineering challenges. You will also develop specialised knowledge and skills in different domains of environmental engineering. In the second year, you’ll have the flexibility to tailor your studies around your interests. Choose from a range of elective courses, create your own project, complete an internship, or study abroad. You’ll conclude the year with an independent research project, applying everything you’ve learned in the programme.

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a student-centred system based on the student workload required to achieve the objectives of a programme of study. Its aim is to facilitate the recognition of study periods undertaken by mobile students through the transfer of credits. The ECTS is based on the principle that 60 credits are equivalent to the workload of full-time student during one academic year.
