Epidemiology
Master

Epidemiology focuses on the occurrence, the distribution and the determinants of health and disease, and on the methods that can be used to study these phenomena.
What are the basic mechanisms that underly health and disease? And how can we best study their occurrence and determinants in the divergent context of biomedical research, clinical practice, risk estimation and health policy? In this programme, you study epidemiology in all its different facets, with examples ranging from cancer epidemiology and nutritional, molecular, clinical and occupational health epidemiology to the epidemiology of musculoskeletal disorders. The master gives you comprehensive knowledge of epidemiology, including the critical assessment of scientific publications and reports on public health and patient-bound research. You also learn to plan, execute, analyse and report epidemiological research.
This is a one-year full-time or two-year part-time programme taught in English.
