Interior Architecture and Furniture Design (Design)
Bachelor

The Interior Architecture & Furniture Design Bachelor programme is oriented to the full spectrum of the spatial domain: the spatial conditions that define how we experience our everyday surroundings.
The basis of teaching is experimental and research-oriented. The core objective is to uncover opportunities and individual potential. Learning by doing. The strong focus on the personal, individual viewpoint and the identity of its designers is crucial from a professional perspective. Great value is ascribed to both the work process and the individual approach of the student, the objective being to develop an independent mindset, a reflective attitude towards design and the capacity to empathize. The designer with a BA of Design degree will then be able to handle any commission, without trouble and from an entirely individual approach, in a good match for the rapidly changing world we live in in the twenty-first century.
After the first year of study, the programme offers a choice of a specialization major in Interior Architecture (full-time/part-time) or Furniture Design (full-time only). The course of study takes four years. The new BA of Design fits in with the teaching outlook of the Royal Academy of Art as well as national qualifications in design. Upon completion and the achievement of the BA of Design, the KABK offers the opportunity to continue a Master's education.
