Law in Society
Bachelor

During the interdisciplinary Law in Society Bachelor’s (LL.B.) at VU Amsterdam, you’ll tackle global societal challenges from both a broad legal and social sciences perspective, drawing on insights from quantitative and qualitative research. Instead of studying public, private or criminal law separately, you’ll discover how different fields overlap when addressing today’s complex issues. The curriculum is built around four pressing themes: security, migration, sustainability and the globalisation of markets.
Besides law, you’ll explore criminology, sociology, psychology and artificial intelligence (AI). This interdisciplinary approach helps you see how the law shapes everyday challenges. And how you can respond when clear rules are missing.
By the end of the programme, you’ll be equipped to think critically, propose fair measures and contribute to solving today’s and tomorrow’s societal challenges. Are you socially engaged, eager to fight injustice, and open to different perspectives? Then Law in Society at VU Amsterdam could be your next step.
