Literary Studies
Master

The research programme in Literary Studies values the meaning of literary texts. It explores how to view a literary text from both past and present in an international perspective & within society.
The research master Literary studies is designed for highly motivated, excellent students who have strong affinities with the research progress on literature and who want to contribute their ideas to existing debates in the field. This master will give you an excellent base for an academic and international career in the research on literature.
You will work in small groups on your own period or field of interest under the guidance of prominent scholars. Moreover, you will work together closely with students from the other HLCS-research master's: Historical Studies, and Art and Visual culture. In this way, your own specialisation stands in a robust framework of theoretical and methodological training with disciplinary and interdisciplinary levels. Great importance is attached to debates on recent scientific developments and on the research ideas of individual students. A tutor will help you to make your personal choices and to design the ideal programme tailored to your interests.
