Master
The Master’s program in Philosophy at Tilburg University focuses on clarifying philosophical and normative questions about individuals and society in light of new scientific insights.
The program includes two overarching courses that explore classical philosophical themes in modern society, such as free will, rationality, political representation, and individual rights.
Alongside these core courses, students take courses within one of four tracks:
- Ethics, Policy and Global Challenges: Examine today’s major global challenges from ethical and philosophical perspectives.
- Philosophy of Art and Culture: Use philosophical classics to shed new light on fundamental questions about human existence, identity, culture, and society.
- Philosophy of Mind and Psychology: Learn to understand the human mind from a philosophical perspective.
- Philosophy of AI and Digital Society: Explore the philosophical questions and problems that arise in a digital society.

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a student-centred system based on the student workload required to achieve the objectives of a programme of study. Its aim is to facilitate the recognition of study periods undertaken by mobile students through the transfer of credits. The ECTS is based on the principle that 60 credits are equivalent to the workload of full-time student during one academic year.
