Sociology

University of Amsterdam Amsterdam Research university

Sociology studies how societies function and change, exploring themes such as work, migration, gender, inequality, culture, power, and institutions. A Bachelor’s gives you a broad foundation in sociological theories and perspectives, while a Master’s in Sociology takes you from understanding society to investigating it yourself: you specialise in topics that interest you, conduct your own research and develop the analytical skills to address complex social challenges.
