Tourism has developed into one of the prime industries in the global economy. According to the World Travel & Tourist Council, the tourism sector supports 1 in 10 jobs on the planet. That's why travel agencies, governments, heritage centers and publishers are increasingly looking for academically trained professionals who can creatively and critically reflect on tourism as a cultural phenomenon, and who are capable of nourishing the cultural interests of tourists with enticing ideas and well-informed stories.
By combining historical, literary, art-historical and other disciplinary approaches, and by integrating academic research with practical challenges, the Master's specialisation Tourism and Culture at Radboud University will train you to become an academic expert in cultural tourism.

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a student-centred system based on the student workload required to achieve the objectives of a programme of study. Its aim is to facilitate the recognition of study periods undertaken by mobile students through the transfer of credits. The ECTS is based on the principle that 60 credits are equivalent to the workload of full-time student during one academic year.

Application requirements
A completed Bachelor's degree with Bachelor thesis in Archaeology, Art History, History, Literary Studies, Cultural Studies, Media Studies, English, Dutch, French, German, Spanish, Philosophy, Liberal Arts or a related discipline.
Requirements: a TOEFL score of ≥90 (internet based) and all subscores ≥22; an IELTS score of ≥6.5, subscores ≥ 6.0, writing subscore ≥ 6.5; Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) or Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) or Cambridge C1 advanced or C2 Proficiency with a mark of C or higher.
