Food connects everything. It shapes our health, climate, economies and global equality. At University College Venlo (UCV), you explore how food systems work and how they can be transformed. This small-scale, English-taught Liberal Arts & Sciences programme at Maastricht University centres on one question: how can we create healthier, more sustainable and just food systems? You learn to understand complex global challenges from multiple perspectives and develop skills to contribute to real solutions.

At UCV, you design your own academic pathway around three lenses: health, behaviour and responsible innovation. You might study the biological foundations of nutrition and health, investigate why people make certain food choices, or examine how policy, technology and entrepreneurship drive sustainable change. By combining disciplines, you connect science, society and innovation.

UCV offers a close-knit international environment. In small groups and through problem-based learning, you tackle real-world challenges. You receive personal guidance, space to shape your interests, and a strong foundation for international master’s programmes or careers in sustainability, public health, innovation and beyond. At UCV, you don’t just study the future: you learn to shape it.
