In the bachelor’s programme Water Management at HZ, you learn how to solve global water challenges in one of the world’s leading water countries: the Netherlands. From sea level rise and drought to water pollution and extreme heat: you work on solutions that help keep people and environments safe and liveable.
As a water manager, you work on real-world issues connected to climate, nature and society. You study how water systems work, how people use water and how different interests come together in one area. During the programme, you discover where your strengths and interests lie, from ecology and water quality to spatial design and climate adaptation.
Learn by doing in the Dutch delta
You study in Middelburg, located in the South-West Delta of the Netherlands: a unique region where living with water is part of everyday life. Here, you:
- Gain hands-on experience through fieldwork, excursions and projects
- Work with companies, governments and research groups on real-world water challenges
