University Colleges respond to a growing demand for a more holistic type of education. You will not only study Liberal Arts and Sciences, but actually live it. You study, live and work together with students from different cultural backgrounds and with different disciplinary interests.

Compose your own curriculum

The honours programmes they offer include a wide range of courses in the Arts, Humanities, Science and Social Sciences. Together with your academic advisor, you will compose your own multi- and interdisciplinary curriculum.

Classes are small and interactive and all courses are in English. There is a strong emphasis on international community building. Many colleges offer a residential campus and extracurricular activities.

How to apply

University Colleges are allowed to set their own admission criteria. They may require a minimum GPA, documents, such as motivation and recommendation letters, or invite you for an interview. Check their websites for specific admission criteria and procedures.

Dutch University Colleges tend to use a holistic application procedure. Your grades are an important part of the application, but they will also look at your personal interests, motivation and extracurricular activities.
